Prologue

As of today, it has been eight months since I took delivery of my 2016 Ford Focus RS last December after waiting for over a year since placing the order in October of 2015. Growing up with econoboxes, I only became a car enthusiast over the course of the last four years owning my previous car, an (automatic) 2013 Subaru BRZ. As a result, with this car, I decided to venture farther outside my comfort zone and learn as much as I can, from both working on the car and improving my skills as a driver.

The past eight months with this car have already been more exciting than I had expected. The car has come from bone stock to having a healthy set of modifications and improvements, and I have come from barely knowing how to drive manual to participating in my first HPDE track day. There are many more exciting projects planned for this car in the coming months and future track days to come.

This blog will serve as both a build log for my RS and a medium for me to share thoughts, knowledge, and lessons gained, in hopes that it may be helpful to fellow enthusiasts as well as any non-enthusiasts who are open to getting their toes wet.

I will start by back-filling, adding write-ups for the modifications and projects that have already been completed for the car and will then post write-ups of projects as best as my time will allow.
